Turkey Pops - A Food Project for Kids

This past weekend we made a fun, easy, and edible craft with my nieces and nephews, these Turkey Pops. They came out really cute and festive.

Turkey Pops

Ingredients & Materials:

1 roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated sugar cookies
24 Dum Dum Pops®, unwrapped
8 apples
16 googly eyes
construction paper
hot glue gun

Directions:

Heat oven to 350°F. Line the cookie sheets with parchment paper. Cut cookie dough into 24 slices. On the parchment-lined cookie sheet, place cookie slices about 2 1/2 inches apart. Press a pop in the center of each cookie slice. Bake 9 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheets.

Using construction paper cut out the body, beak, and gobbler from this place card template. Then assemble the body of your turkey from your construction paper parts and googly eyes.

Adhere the turkey body to the apple using a hot glue gun. Finally, poke the cookie pops into the apple to make the turkey’s feathers. Makes about 8 turkey pops.
